What is a Visitor Visa?

A Visitor Visa/Tourist Visa (Temporary Resident Visa TRV) is an Official Document issued by the Canadian Visa Office. A visitor visas permit the visa holder to travel to Canada for six months at a time as many times as they want, as long as the visa remains valid. They can be valid for up to 10 years, but the exact validity period is at the discretion of the visa officer issuing it.

The Documents Required for Canada Tourist Visa

  1. A valid Passport with an expiry date exceeding 6 months.
  2. Documents to prove your ties to your Home Country.
  3. Covering Letter from the applicant stating the purpose and duration of stay.
  4. Invitation Letter or Statutory Declaration from inviter stating the relationship with the applicant.
  5. Bank Statement for last 6 months along with account holder’s bank details.
  6. Financial Documents :- Income Returns of last 2 years, Salary Slips of 6 months, Proof of Funds, Proof of Employment etc.
  7. Photograph :- The  Photograph must show the full front view of the head, with the face in the middle of the photograph, and include the top of the shoulders. The size of the head from chin to crown must be between 31 mm and 36 mm. The frame size must be at least 35 mm X 45 mm.
  8. Biometrics :- Biometrics are usually required for foreign nationals that are applying for the visa to come to Canada. Biometrics include the foreign nationals’ fingerprints and Photograph. There is also fee associated with giving Biometrics. Their purpose is to allow Canadian officials to confirm a foreign traveller’s identify when they enter Canada.
