What is Canada Express Entry?

The Canada Express Entry (EE) is an online immigration application system. The Canada Express Entry Program is a points based immigration program for professionals looking to settle in Canada. It allows people to submit a profile and be considered as a skilled immigrant. Candidates with the highest rankings are invited to apply for permanent residency. It awards points to professionals based on Language, Education, Skills, Experience, Canadian employment status and provincial/territorial nomination. The higher your points, the greater your chances of receiving an invitation to Apply (ITA) for Permanent Residency in Canada.

How does Canada Express Entry work?

  • Fill out an online  profile for Express Entry with details Age, Education, Language Ability, Work Experience etc.
  • Once the application is filed in the pool, an Express Entry Profile Number is issued and Job seeker Validation Code.
  • You will be ranked in the Express Entry pool using the points-based system.
  • Highest Scoring Candidates are send an Invitation To Apply (ITA) for Permanent Residence.
  • Once you have applied, your PR application will then be processed within the next 6 months.

Do I Qualify for Express Entry?

To qualify for Express Entry (EE) you will be required to score a minimum of 67 points based on factors of Age, Education Qualification, Language Ability, Work Experience, Adaptability scores are out of 100 based on the points assessment grid.

How are Express Entry profile points determined?

Your Express Entry profile will get points based on:

Your education level;
Your abilities in English and/or French (Canada’s 2 official languages);
Your work experience and skills;
Your age;
If you have a job offer in Canada; and
Your spouse’s education, language abilities and work experience.
Additional points are also awarded if you have completed a college or university program in Canada or if you have a provincial nomination.

Please note that Express Entry points are different from the Federal Skilled Worker point system.

Proof of funds
You must prove that you have enough money to support yourself or your family while looking for work. You don’t need this if you have a valid job offer from a Canadian employer.
